One day, someone asked me what success is

imagem do aniversário de Vanessa quando criança. A imagem representa o poema "Um dia me perguntaram o que é sucesso", escrito por Vanessa Campos.

Success has a scent,
colors, voices, and laughter.
Success has a name and an address.

Success is having true friends
and traveling with them to the beach,
or camping in a tiny town.

Success is hearing your parents
tell you how they met.
It’s having old photo albums
that tell your story
and the story of your people.

Success is making pancakes,
or any other recipe,
and along with the taste,
creating a memory with your family.

Success is getting married
and staying in love.
It’s waking up on a cold day
and napping with your dog
under the sun.

Success is childhood memories
of going to the river with your dad,
of trying to fish but being scared of the fish,
of pretending you fell into the pond
just to get wet
and truly believing
that silly excuse would fool your mom.
It’s remembering corn cobs became Barbies,
and sliding on palm leaves
was grass surfing.

Success is having family, friends,
and joyful memories.
It’s knowing part of your life lives
in the minds of your cousins,
uncles, grandparents, parents, friends, and children.
Success is also feeling longing,
for people and places
that will never return.Success is the certainty
of eternal life with Christ.
Success is so many things,
but none of them can be bought.
The Forbes Under 30 cover can’t pay for it.
A millionaire bank account can’t afford
the cost of success,
because success is made of people,
not things.
